I am Alex Pledger, a professional basketball player for the SKYCITY NZ Breakers! I have been with the team for five years and am one of three players who have been on all four championship teams!
I have also played for the Waikato Pistons in the NZNBL from 2009-2011 and the Auckland Pirates in 2012. Being a member of the ‘09 Pistons and’12 Pirates Championship teams!
They say there is no greater honour than being able to represent your country and have proudly pulled on the black singlet since 2008! I've been privileged enough to be a member of one of the few New Zealand teams to beat Australia in a qualifying series (Oceania World Cup qualifiers 2009) and the 2010 FIBA World Championship team!
Away from the hardwood I am an ambassador for the ‘For Everyone Charitable Foundation” a foundation that gives out grants of up to $5000 to New Zealand community groups!
